Unresolved work permit issues will hinder Reggae artiste Cocoa Tea’s performance at Roy Wilkins Park in Queens, New York on Sunday June 30. Cocoa Tea will be replaced by Half Pint. Promoter Chris Roberts of Groovin Inc. said Cocoa Tea’s work permit issues may or may not be resolved in time for the event hence the replacement. Roberts said his understanding is that Cocoa Tea who holds a US visa requires a waiver to travel due to an incident which took place in the Caribbean in 1998. Roberts said, “we hired the services of a top notch law firm to expedite the process” but with a few days to go before the event and the issue still unresolved, the team thought the most prudent thing to do is to inform patrons and seek credible replacement for Cocoa Tea.
Half Pint will join a world-class lineup of hit machines including R&B icon Patti LaBelle, Tank, Ginuwine, Tyrese, Sanchez, Barrington Levy, Steel Pulse and Queen Ifrica.
