The Jamaica Gleaner is reporting that injuries Toots Hibbert received to the head while on tour recently is affecting him more severely than it initially appeared. It is widely reported that the international reggae icon was struck by a bottle that was thrown by a patron during a performance at the Dominion Riverrock Outdoor Sports and Music Festival in Richmond, Virginia on Saturday, May 18. Toots Hibbert was rushed to the VCU Medical Centre in Richmond for treatment which subsequently resulted in the cancellation of the ‘Toots and the Maytals‘ US tour slated to run until June 2. The blow to the head has lead Toots to seek additional medical treatment while on tour and as reported in yesterday’s Observer further resulted in the artiste’s decision to return to Jamaica to seek even further medical treatment read more
