After 289 weeks, the popular Felix Jaehn remake of Omi’s single, ‘Cheerleader’ has landed the #1 spot on the UK Singles Top 40 chart unseating US rapper Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth’s collaboration, “See You Again.” Now certified gold in the United Kingdom from sales of over 400,000 copies, Omi joins a growing list of Jamaican acts who have topped the UK Top 40 chart. The list are as follows:-

“Cheerleader” now the #1 single in the UK, has churned it’s way on Billboard Top 100 chart with a début at #95 last week and appearing in a total number of 22 charts. The song’s chart breaking trend has registered #1 positions on Sweden Top 40, Switzerland Top 20, Denmark Top 20, German Top 40, The Netherland Top 40 (twice) and France Top 20 charts.
