Snoop Lion has released a video for single, ‘No Guns Allowed’ taken from his upcoming Reincarnated album and featuring his daughter Cori B and rapper Drake. However, since it’s release the video has received mixed reaction across his U.S. fan base but despite what anyone thinks, it is obvious that Snoop Lion will keep going and hopefully effectively inject the positive messages he’s sharing with his fans.
Clips from the video featured striking images of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, Aurora theatre massacre and Trayvon Marting Killing that brought to the fore the issue of crime that has plagued not only Caribbean nations but the United States of America and the rest of the world. These images are constant reminders of the hurt and pain families of the victims grapple with and the reason why Snoop Lion’s, ‘No Guns Allowed’ is a relevant and positive message to embrace, coming from a once real hardcore rapper who was arrested multiple times on gun possession charges.
How does Snoop Lion feel about this song? “It’s a powerful song and we hope to spread a positive message that hits home with people,” he reportedly said and in relation to purpose continued, “We’ve seen too much bloodshed involving guns and we want to prevent the next incident from happening. That’s what’s it all about, trying to bring awareness and push love and peace.”
‘No Guns Allowed‘ is number six on Snoop Lion’s sixteen track ‘Reincarnated’ album due for an April 23, 2013 release. The reggae-influenced album will feature, Chris Brown, T.I., Busta Rhymes, Mavado, Rita Ora and more.
