RUFFI-ANN NOMINATED IN TWO CATEGORIES FOR EME!!
Known as Lady Shabba back in the 90’s Ruffi-Ann was an aggressive artiste who often time displays her bad attitude on and off the stage. This was her way of venting her frustration or rebelling against the harsh treatment she received from trying to make an impact on the local music industry. Her boisterousness brought about in clashes across the island was humorous to many fans and created a name somewhat but Ruffi-Ann wanted more. In 2007 the mother of three lovely kids, penned the lyrics to a song entitled ‘Save the juvenile” which became almost an instant hit. The song suited her, she felt good about it and decides then that this is the direction in which she intends to steer her career. Since then Ruff-Ann released several conscious Reggae/Dancehall tracks to include; Ghetto Youths Unite, Don’t Leave You Condom, Enemy Dem and her most current, Nuh Work Nuh Deh. Her efforts never went unnoticed as she is nominated in two categories, Biggest Comeback Artiste and Singjay of the Year (female) for the 2010 EME Awards. The determined and hard working Sharon “Ruffi-Ann” Peterkin and other artistes with the same temperament she displays are an inspiration to others and the lesson to be learnt from their relentless efforts is that its never over until its over.
