Nesbeth on Calgary Int’l Reggae Fest |
Roots Reggae artiste Nesbeth goes Dancehall on a new track titled, “Laa Laa Laa La.” Nesbeth puts it down on the Jan Biggs produced track, a happy song by the newly wed, taking jabs at some of his colleagues singing, “dem sey too much demon, too much duppy. Too much bad people ina de gully...”
Nesbeth has stuck with roots reggae over the years simply because it’s who he is. Dedicated to the music, this artiste has no intention of switching his allegiance from giving the people, clean, inspiring and motivating music. However, the usually soft spoken artiste could not resist the temptation of recording on this Dancehall track but kept it fun; and from the responses he’s gotten so far, “I have no regrets. I actually called a DJ to ask him if he had gotten the song which was sent in his email and he was like, Nesbeth you naa listen radio? You never hear how me deal wid it?” This statement Nesbeth said, left him tongue tied because he felt bad about not knowing that this had taken place. Several other DJs, he confirmed, have also personally contacted him to tell him they are feeling the track and has already begun pounding it.
Marriage has certainly made Nesbeth happy at heart and that’s the vibe he now brings. It is welcoming, coming from him and Reggae fans can rest assured that he will keep his roots reggae persona in check at all times.
