Trending recording artiste and self-professed Duchess of the Jamaican Dancehall Tiana, has once again proven that she has a strong presence in Africa being nominated in the 5th annual Kingston 10 Reggae Award in Kenya, in the category of ‘Female Artiste of the Year 2012.’ Situated in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi, Kingston 10 is a prominent Dancehall/Reggae show that highlights many of Jamaica’s top entertainers on a daily basis, promoting the island’s key genres across the country. Tiana was nominated among Lady Saw, the Queen of Dancehall, Ce’cile, Tifa and Ikaya.
Tiana’s commendable breakout campaign in 2011 with hits such as Bruk Out, Wine and Highest Grade contributed to her successes in 2012. She held onto the trend releasing other songs that became popular like Only Girl Him Want (a remix of Popcaan’s Only Man She Want hit), Dem a Bawl, Don’t Stop and One Stuck Whine which swelled a growing fan base in the African country. The Dancehall Duchess also received nominations in the International Reggae and World Music Award (IRAWMA) and was named Jamaica’s top new artiste at the 2012 3B Entertainment Industry Awards in October. The Kingston 10 Reggae Awards ceremony takes place January 2012
