Dexta Daps |
Dancehall newest sensation Dexta Daps, whose popularity soared following a tussle with police offers at the Donald Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, Jamaica, proved his star billing at the second annual Oracabessa Festival held at Roy Wilkins Park NYC recently.
Excitement broke out as the singer, fashionably attired in a designer suit, entered the stage and delivered songs like ‘Dreaming,’ ‘Pretty Nicky,’ ‘Morning Love’ and ‘Jealous Ova,’ an erotic duet he recorded with dancehall artiste Tifa. A well received performance, Dexta Daps even showed versatility crooning Beres Hammond’s ‘Putting Up Resistance’ and a Morgan Heritage classic, ‘She’s Still Loving Me.’ He garnered his biggest ovation with his popular song ‘7eleven,’ which resonated with the throngs of women that were in the park.
Some other highlights of the event includes:-
- Alaine’s vocal was on point and she use it to serenade DJ Oxtail from Road Intl
- Sean Paul worked the stage with his dancers
- Tarrus and Jimmy Riley the two had the entire park singing
- Chris Martin was a favourite among the ladies
