Veteran dancehall/reggae artiste Cutty Ranks resurfaced on recent remixes with Cash Money Records and YMCMB singer and Hip-Hop artiste T.Rone better known for his breakout single, Hello Love (F.U.) and the ‘I’m different’ Def Jam Recordings artiste 2Chainz.
Cutty Ranks has been featured on T.Rone’s Hello Love remix as well as 2Chainz ‘Slums of the Ghetto’ which features the artist Total Kaos. Despite his absence from the entertainment spotlight, the artist has been diligently working on his independent Phillip Music label that has produced the Tax Money riddim featuring Lutan Fyah, Turbulence, Peter Metro and Devine among other artistes.
Cutty Ranks has enjoyed a successful music career and stated in a recent release that having been in the music industry for over three decades, have analyzed and come to the realization that, “many Jamaican artistes and producers are now stuck in the hip-hop sound and I believe we need to go back to the real authentic, hardcore reggae and dancehall music respectively.”
The artiste is said to be focused now on marketing his music and has joined forces with Dmoney of Dbeatz Music Group out of Miami to capitalize in this area.
