In 2009 Slanger recorded his part in Bermuda then sent the riddim and vocals to Bramma in Jamaica. The riddim was actually produced in Jamaica, and the concept came from listening and vibing it. World Gone Mad did well in the streets of Bermuda on its release receive much attention from Bermudian radio. It was submitted to the UnderGround Radio Show which plays on Power 95 FM also streaming live via internet every Sunday afternoon. This then lead to the song being nominated for Best Reggae Song as The UnderGround host the music awards every year for primarily unsigned local and overseas artists.
As for Slanger, ‘it was overwhelming and a joy to have won the award because going up against Tabia who hails from St. Vincent would be strong competition. She also has a song with Dancehall King Beenie Man (not nominated because it was just released). The crowd was very supportive as I accepted the award with some knowing my past. So for that, I feel extremely humbled. I also have to thank Bramma for being a part of this project and forming a vital musical link, because in the end – it’s for the masses and the good of the music”.
