Reacting to the recent killing of an 8 month old pregnant woman by a policeman in Jamaica, Reggae singer Anthony B released a new song entitled, “Too Hard Now” condemning this unthinkable action by a law enforcement officer. In a press release distributed by Destine Media, Anthony B said, “When I first heard of the recent police killing in my country of Jamaica and knowing that the woman shot was only a month away from having a new born baby; I said to myself, this is too much now.”
25 year old Kayan Lamont was allegedly shot twice by a policeman for using expletives. One of two sisters on the scene who tried to ascertain why Kayan was shot was also shot and injured, while a third was spared only because the cop ran out of ammunition.
Known as a music that harshly criticizes, scandalizes and highlights injustices such as this, the lyrics “When will we take a firm stand, to stop this innocent slaying of our people” firmly addresses an increasing problem in Jamaica that need to be stemmed now.
Too Hard Now was produced by Irie Vibration out of Austria and Anthony B’s Born Fire Music label to be released September 9, 2012.
