
Now in its 16th year, the St. Kitts Music Festival attracts both locals and visitors alike. It features a wide range of musical styles on the popular market, including R&B, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Reggae, Soca, Calypso, Gospel and Contemporary music. Past artistes have included such prominent acts as John Legend, T-Pain, Michael Bolton, K.C. and the Sunshine Band, UB40’s Ali Campbell, Wyclef Jean, Ne-Yo, Air Supply, Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, The Commodores, Dionne Warwick, Billy Occean, Sean Paul, Boyz II Men, King Konris, Stephen Marley, Regina Belle, Maxi Priest, Biggie Irie, Bunny Wailer and Lord Nelson.
This year six-time Grammy Award winner Toni Braxton will headline the upcoming St. Kitts Music Festival, which takes place on Thursday June 28th to Saturday June 30th, 2012. This was confirmed at an impressive sponsorship and media launch at the Marriott Resort in St. Kitts today when local Music Festival executives announced that they were excited to have finalized arrangements to add Toni Braxton to the high quality artiste roster as the main headliner for this year’s “sweet sixteen” annual event.
Minister of Tourism & International Transport, Senator Ricky Skerritt, said the multi-platinum superstar will perform at Warner Park Stadium on Saturday, which is the last night of the three night festival. “we are proud to have Toni Braxton visit with us in St. Kitts to headline one of the most dynamic lineups for this year’s St. Kitts Music Festival,’ Skerritt said.
With more than 60 million albums sold worldwide Toni Braxton is recognized as one of the most outstanding voices of this generation with her distinctive sultry vocal blend of R&B, pop, jazz and gospel.
Presently, Brazton is enjoying huge success with Braxton Family Values reality sow on the WE network, however she is best known for songs like “Another Sad Love Song”, “Breathe Again,” “You’re Makin Me High,” and “He Wasn’t Man Enough.”
The addition of Toni Braxton now completes an impressive St. Kitts Music Festival lineup, which includeds Roberta Flack, Damian Marley, Omarion, Machel Montano, Morgan Heritage, Krosfyah, I-Octane and Popcaan.
